To begin with, how much do you understand about ecotourism? Ecotourism is a form of travel that enables the travellers (ecotourists) to see, learn and appreciate nature and local peoples' cultures.

Watch the below video:

List down a few things in the video that you can identify that is related to "see, learn and appreciate" nature and peoples' culture?

In the video, you saw how ecotourism brought some life back to Van Vieng, Laos, in terms of employment and small business opportunities for locals.

Also, in the video, you saw a boat of what look like tourists coming. Can you make a guess what are some common characteristics of ecotourists/ecotravellers?

Ecotourism can be a powerful way to generate livelihoods for locals. Local people who live in places far from the cities often find jobs difficult to come by. Hence, ecotourism could be a good way to improve livelihoods for the locals.
Ecotourism is sometimes also called responsible tourism, besides being called nature based travel.
This form of travel emphasizes low impact activities and learning about flora and fauna, and has been very popular over the past few decades.

Email us and ask for an ecotourism activity table, which we want you to fill up. Email: kevinphun@yahoo.com or kevin@crts.asia. Please tell us your name, where you are from and your specific area.
